Ellen offers clients over 30 years of extensive litigation experience in trial and appellate matters spanning virtually every area of criminal law, both state and federal. Ellen has tried numerous federal and state jury and bench trials, and has also argued cases in state and federal appellate courts. Ellen is an outspoken champion for those accused of crimes and has worked vigorously to protect their rights. Ellen’s work philosophy is to litigate her cases aggressively, listen, communicate and serve her clients, and undertake whatever time and expense is necessary to achieve the best possible outcome for each individual client. Ellen is the 2014 recipient of the Family Defender Award from the Family Defense Center, a Chicago based non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate justice for families, for her outstanding work in a false accusation case.
